People and nature can co-exist and prosper for their mutual benefit.
The Landscape Foundation of Australia is a newly formed non-profit organisation focused on supporting the protection, restoration, enhancement and sustainable management of natural environments that occur in and around the urban landscapes of Australian cities and towns.

The Challenge
With nearly 90% of Australians now living in cities and townships, and those numbers projected to increase, the impacts on urban landscapes and natural environments continue at a disturbing rate.
Urgent, direct and coordinated action is required to halt the process of decline and restore a sustainable relationship between people and natural environments to ensure their mutual health and survival.
A Focus on Positive Change
The Foundation is committed to positive change that is founded on the belief that environmental degradation can be reversed through high quality planning, design and management practices that incorporate sound expertise to ensure a healthy and sustainable future for communities and urban landscapes.
Actions
The Foundation will support through grant-making and facilitation:
Research that generates and disseminates knowledge to inform sound decision making about landscapes and natural environments in and around cities and towns.
Scholarships for students whose studies focus on Australian urban landscapes and natural environments.
Community groups undertaking projects that protect and restore urban landscapes and natural environments.
