Releasing our ‘Valuing Nature’ Discussion Paper

A key Strategic Priority of LFA is the issue of ‘Valuing Nature’. We have prepared a Discussion Paper that discusses the consequences of societies’ attitude to nature and the need for economic systems to be changed so they fully account for all the values associated with nature. Alternative economic approaches are considered, which include both market and non-market mechanisms, to take account of the values associated with nature. The Discussion Paper also emphasizes the need to recognise that not all values associated with nature, particularly cultural and spiritual values, can be monetised.
