The role of ‘Not-for-profits’ in landscape practice

In new article published in World Landscape Architecture titled “The role of ‘Not-for-profits’ in landscape practice”, LFA Director Noel Corkery discusses the need for the landscape profession to broaden its reach and explore alternative models of practice. This includes engaging more effectively with communities and policy makers.

Working in collaboration with not-for-profits is an “alternative mode of practice” that can provide opportunities to work more directly in the service of communities, in collaboration with other disciplines. Noel also discusses the benefits obtained through voluntary activities that include health and well-being, personal development and connection to community.
